Important note on equipment before the season starts:

Please do not stress on purchasing a ton of equipment just yet! Your teams will provide bats and helmets for practice and games so you are just responsible for a glove, softball pants and cleats. We highly recommend not buying a bunch of stuff (especially a bat) until you have talked to your coach about sizing etc., especially if you have questions.

If you need ANY gear, we will be having a gear swap during our 10/12/14U assessment on January 27th. We will be at Northern Lights School from 9:00am-4:00pm with a booth for all of our extra gear that is available for all players to take home for free (no need to swap)! We will have gloves, cleats, bats, softball bags, catchers gear, helmets, batting gloves, and more in a mix of sizes from 6U-14U! Please stop by anytime between 9 and 4 to see what we have and remember, the best glove is a pre-loved one that is already broken in!! We will also be available to help advise on sizing (for bats and gloves) so come talk to us if you have any questions!

We will also be getting a discount code from Sports Basement that will be available after 1/27 so be on the lookout for that soon if you are in the market!

10/12/14U Player Assessment:

We've made the decision to reschedule our 10/12/14U player assessments to next Saturday, January 27th, given the weather forecast and the high likelihood of rain and muddy fields this weekend.

The player assessments time slots are as follows:

12/14U players: ALL PLAYERS 9am-11am

10U players with Last Names beginning A-J: 11:30am-1:30pm

10U players with Last Names beginning K-Z: 2pm-4pm

Please arrive at the Northern Lights field 15 minutes early for your assessment window. The field address is:

Northern Lights School
3710 Dorisa Ave
Oakland, CA 94605

Equipment:
Please wear cleats (if you have them) or tennis shoes that can get dirty as the field may still be muddy. Please bring a glove and other equipment if you have it. We will provide batting equipment and extra gloves for those that need them in addition to the gear swap station that will be set up all day.

Assessment Overview and Help Needed:

The coaches will be at the assessments performing simple drills to gain an understanding of softball abilities. All players will make a team, this is just an effort to create well balanced teams for a fun, more competitive season. If parents are available to help during your assessment window, coaches would greatly appreciate it! If your child plans to pitch, parents are highly encouraged to be available to catch (we will have extra gloves if needed).
