About the Spring Season  

Registration Fees

Early Bird Registration Fees, October 20th-November 29th: 

·     $195 for 6U

·     $255 for 8/10/12/14U

Regular Registration Fees, November 30th-January 12th

·     $215 for 6U

·     $275 for 8/10/12/14U

Spring 2025 Softball Age Divisions

Age Groups

Players will be automatically assigned to teams using the age group guidelines listed below. Please remember that in 2023 USA Softball changed their age cutoff date back from Jan 1 to Sept 1. This is in an effort to better align player development levels, and to increase the likelihood that classmates in the same grade will be able to play together. 

- 6U: 5 or 6 on Sept 1, 2024 (usually K-1 for 2024-2025 school year)

- 8U: 7 or 8 on Sept 1, 2024 (usually 2nd & 3rd grade for 2024-2025 school year)

- 10U: 9 or 10 on Sept 1, 2024 (usually 4th & 5th grade for 2024-2025 school year)

- 12/14U: 11-14 on Sept 1, 2024 (usually 6th to 9th grade for 2024-2025 school year)

Season Schedule: Practice and Games

  • 6U & 8U teams will practice once a week, games on Saturdays

  • 10U & 12/14U teams will practice twice a week, games on Saturdays

Equipment and Uniforms

OGSL provides teams bats, helmets, and other team equipment. Players will also receive a jersey, visor/cap, and socks (included in registration fee).

Players will need to provide their own glove, softball pants (6U and 8U will use gray, 10U and 12U/14U will use black), and cleats – plastic only (no metal cleats). Soccer cleats or athletic shoes are okay, especially at the youngest age groups.

Reduced Fee Registration

OGSL is committed to making softball available to as many players as possible. The league offers reduced fee registrations for families that cannot afford the fees. If you need a fee discount, please email info@ogsl.org. No one is turned away for lack of funds!

Buddy and Coach Requests 

While we will do our best to honor your request, the complexities of creating balanced teams where everyone has the same availability make it impossible to guarantee. We ask that you embrace the opportunity to meet new players and coaches if you aren’t placed with your requested buddy or coach. 

***10U and 12/14U teams are created based on player assessment (held once registration has closed) with the goal of well-balanced teams. Therefore, buddy and coach requests are unlikely to be accommodated. ***
